M&E Manager – Penina Ogendo


Pesh_2011Penina Ogendo is a community development practitioner. She completed both her primary and secondary education in Kisumu. In 2008 she completed her diploma in management of information systems (MIS) with the institute of Information Systems (IMIS) UK. In 2010 she completed a Graduate diploma course in Software engineering at the Digital Advisory Learning Centre (DALC) in collaboration with Cambridge Association of Managers (CAM) UK.In 2014 she completed her Bachelor of Science in Information Technology at Maseno University and a certificate in monitoring and Evaluation course through E-learning at African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF). Currently she is undertaking a Masters Degree course in Information Technology at Maseno University. Penina has further been trained in community counseling, home based Care, paralegal, memory book, business skills, safe water systems intervention, HIV Aids management, education through Listening, Cholera Response, First AID and Training of Trainers (TOT).

She has worked with International Research Network (IRN) a firm that does market research both locally and internationally. She has also worked with Society for Women and Aids in Kenya (SWAK) as a field officer. While with SWAK she was able to empower and capacitate the community on HIV/AIDS issues working with HIV support group and women groups.
Currently she is working with Safe Water and AIDS Program (SWAP) as an M & E Manager.
Penina is a founding member of the organization and is a management team member.
She has worked in various capacities in SWAP as a field officer and supervisor overseeing the activities of 12 field officers.
Penina has over 10 years experience as a community development practitioner. She has been conducting and facilitating community meetings and trainings through the ETL approach (Education through listening), behavior change and managing change, institutional capacity building and participatory approach.
