The Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award – 3rd cycle.

SWAP in collaboration with the University of Illinois (USA) became 1st prize winner in the category Innovative Projects Award for the application titled: Decentralized solar powered drinking water ozonation. SWAP’s country director together with Prof Dorevitch from the University of Illinois were invited with 11 other winners by his highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai to receive this prestigious global water award in Dubai during award ceremonies and gala dinners from 8th to 12th January 2023. The award was launched by his Highness to encourage research centers, individuals and innovators worldwide to develop sustainable and innovative solutions for water scarcity. They provide humanitarian aid to disaster-stricken countries but also invest in the research and development of new and innovative sustainable technologies and methodologies to produce clean water using renewable energy sources. The UAE Water AID Foundation (Suqia UAE) oversees this award. The winners this year were from eight countries including Honduras, India, the Philippines, the US, Kenya, Malaysia, China and France.
