Member – Charles J. Odhiambo
Charles J. Odhiambo holds a Master of Businessadministration degree in Strategic management from University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of science degree in Hospitality management from Maseno University. He is currently the executive director of Ujima Foundation for training and development an organization that supports youths who are faced with the responsibility of taking care of their siblings.
Prior to this position, He was the head of income generating activities and was tasked in developing sustainable business models. Charles way of work and life has been that of influencing organizations and people from all walks of life and especially those who have limited opportunities to make informed decisions and take responsibility for their own actions. This interest in young people particularly from vulnerable communities and their progress as his key motivation has led to having over 3,000 orphaned youngsters accessing jobs and thus achieving their self – reliance.
His professional interests focus on sustainable solutions, targeting vulnerable youths in the community.
Charles is also the local representative of PUM senior experts. A Dutch based organization that connects and supports small and medium sized enterprises in Kenya with expertise from the Netherlands.
Charles also teaches on part time basis at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology – Kisumu campus. In addition, he is a member of Nakuru County Tourism Association, Lake Victoria Tourism Association and sits in the board of Prosperous Kenya and Kenya-Etten Leur project. Charles is a fellow at Perennial and African Visionary Fellowship.
He lives in Kisumu with his wife and two sons.
