Member – Charles J. Odhiambo
Charles J. Odhiambo is a strategic leader and skills development expert dedicated to improving the quality and relevance of technical and vocational training in both formal and non-formal settings. As the Chair of the Board at SWAP, he provides visionary leadership and governance oversight, ensuring the organization continues to deliver sustainable solutions that improve public health and livelihoods. He currently serves as the Executive Director of Ujima Foundation for Training and Development, where he spearheads innovative programs that empower vulnerable youth through skills training, entrepreneurship, and employment opportunities. His expertise spans program design, strategic planning, and human resource management, all focused on fostering long-term, impactful solutions for community development.
With over 15 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, Charles brings a wealth of knowledge in hospitality management, marketing, and entrepreneurship, having previously led income-generating initiatives that established sustainable business models. He also serves as the local representative for PUM-Netherlands senior experts, bridging Kenyan SMEs with Dutch expertise, and volunteers as a Kenya projects advisor for Nederlands Albert Schweitzer Fonds (NASF). In addition to chairing the boards of SWAP, Pamoja Child Foundation, and Kenya Etten-Leur Project, he sits on multiple other boards supporting community-driven initiatives. A recognized thought leader, Charles is a fellow of the African Visionary Fellowship (AVF) and a Perennial Fellow, further cementing his role as a key advocate for innovative and sustainable development in Kenya and beyond.
